Bland, James Bland

A full review to come tomorrow after I've had some time to sleep on it, but I have to just quickly say that the gap between "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" may be the biggest movie dropoff ever. Not awful, but pretty darn close, especially for a movie that will have made well more than $50 million by the time I get around to writing a proper review. Stay tuned ...

I'll write my own review too, probably tomorrow evening. I liked it. Definitely has its problems but I had a good time. I look forward to reading your full review.

I'm probably gonna be a bit too harsh on it than I should, Bob, but I really hold Bond movies to a high standard and this one just didn't cut it for me

I'm with you on this. Such a disappointment, particularly after the excellent outing that was "Casino Royale." "Quantum of Solace" just didn't seem to have any soul to it. And, dammit, Craig's Bond needs to find a sense of humor. Two or three scenes in that movie were crying out for a glib line that never happened. It's a shame -- I had hoped after "Casino Royale" that Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli had left the malaise that marred so many of Pierce Brosnan's films behind. But, sadly, it reared its ugly head again. File it and forget it.

Amen, brother ... The only humor at all came from M., and I would probably even like a movie about talking dogs if Dame Dench were in it
