"Wax on, F$#@ Off": F$#@ yeah!

Happy World Cup to everyone, and thoroughly distracted by that as I am (Mexico v. Bafana Bafana in just under three hours!), all I really have time for this morning is this seriously funny clip from Funny or Die starring the one and only Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio.

I'll probably try and squeeze in a movie tomorrow before U.S.A. v. England, but I can't imagine it will be the new version starring Will Smith's kid, though word so far is it isn't entirely awful. I'll probably spring for "The A-Team," but in the meantime, enjoy this clip, which works because it's so undoubtedly true and because Macchio still looks like he's about 15. Peace and futbol!

Yep, I've got the World Cup fever

Sure, this little movie of sorts is really just a commercial for Nike, but aside from that annoyance, it's also a 3-minute bit of fun directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.

The Wayne Rooney bit, while only at most slightly exaggerated, is very funny, and stick around to the end for an even better appearance from Gael Garcia Bernal (which has him in more soccer action than the disappointing "Rudo y Cursi" ever did.) Enjoy, and of course tune in for 2010 World Cup beginning June 11 with hosts South Africa v. Mexico (go Bafana Bafana!) and then the following day at 2:30 p.m. for U.S.A.-England. Viva futbol!
