How to lose an audience in 30 Days

Well, after about a month without a computer of any kind, I'm back ... but did anyone really miss me? Probably not, but I'm back anyway.

If I had to miss a month's worth of movies, frankly, this January would have to be it. I've seen Avatar twice now, and wanted to go see Up in the Air again, but I was too late. As for new movies, after the wretched reviews for The Lovely Bones, I just couldn't bring myself to watch a Peter Jackson disaster, so I skipped that one. In fact, I haven't seen a new theater movie all month. Thoroughly depressing.

On the advice of Nell Minow, however, I'm gonna take a chance on Edge of Darkness tomorrow, and am hoping for at least slightly more than an average thriller.

Anyways, come Monday, I'll start this up again right, so hopefully a few people will come back.

Peace out.

I kept coming back to see what you had to say about Chuck :) I will drop by again soon.

I think Chuck so far has been great, Sachin ... I'm still afraid that his new ability-of-the-week thing is going to get old, but so far, it's really funny, and I've been very happy with how much they've kept the Buy More crew involved (though I sure wish they hadn't killed off poor Tony Hale like that!)

not to worry you're in my GoogleReader so I know when you've got a post up :) Welcome back! Looking forward to your reviews and opinions. Recommended a friend of mine to swing by this way recently, told him you were the source of many movies now on my Netflix queue :)

Thanks for that, Lynne ... I somehow harbored dreams of making a living at doing this, but if I can make movie recommendations that people actually follow and enjoy, that's enough for me

Missed you! I think you will find Edge of Darkness slightly above average -- primarily because of Ray Winstone. Welcome back.

Hey, I almost called the Telegraph to see if you hadn't shown up to work. Glad to have you back, now I can stop coming back a few times every day with the hope of an update.

You're just about dead right, Nell ... I actually liked it quite a bit throughout, but Ray was clearly the best thing ... I felt a little weird sitting in a theater full of people cheering for that anti-semitic a-hole Gibson, but I have to admit he was pretty good in it too ... And no need to call The Telegraph to track me down, Matt! I'm alive, and as much as can it be called that, fine too

Good to see you back, Reel Fanatic. For a little bit, I thought you might have walked away from the blogosphere!

I've been wondering where you've were. I was really hoping you hadn't given up or something.

I'd probably have more of a life if I did, Chalupa, but not yet ... I just finished a 10-entry piece about everything I missed, which took up most of my Sunday morning!
