And it glitters! The answer to one key question about vampire romance

It's pretty rare that something can be funny enough to make me do an actual spit take, but this clip starring Brandon Routh and Martha MacIsaac of "Superbad" in a spoof of "Twilight" was enough to do it with my Saturday morning coffee. Be warned: It answers that key question, "What will happen with my vampire boyfriend when I get my period?", so you know it's going to be delightfully crude. Enjoy!

I have to admit I am a bit bumfuddled by the whole Twilight phenomenon. I mean, Both The Vampire Diaries and The Southern Vampire Mysteries (AKA New Blood) predate it and it liberally rips off both. And from what I understand from those who have read all three series, it is the worst. Yet, it is by far the most successful vampire romance. It's as if Herman's Hermits were bigger than The Beatles!

I'm completely with you, Mr. Mercurie, but then you and I are obviously far from the target audience for this ... Interestingly enough, I work with several women who dig vampire stories ... two of them are big "Twilight" fans and two are big Sookie Stackhouse fans (like me), but one in the Sookie ("True Blood") camp just viscerally hates the "Twilight" books because, along with being just so sappy, she says they're also just incredibly poorly written .. Since I'm never going to read one myself, I'll have to take her word for it
