Finally, tonight: "Spider-Man 3"

Well, technically tomorrow morning at 12:01 a.m., but I'll take whatever I can get. And since all things Spidey is all I have on the brain right now, I'm taking the day off in his honor.

The critics have already spoken, declaring the movie bloated and packed with two many villains. I'm betting they're right, but I'm also looking for lots of Raimi's signature humor and style. For anyone who wants to know what I thought, I'll be posting as lucid a review as I can muster at 3 in the morning tomorrow. Peace out.

I might try and push it until 9 a.m., Ryan, but it's still not gonna be a terribly energetic Friday morning

They can all kiss my ass, you can never have too many in a Spidey flick. I'll be with you at midnight, eagerly awaiting Venom

Very well, if profanely, put, Shane ... Less than 12 hours ago, and I don't think I'll be able to think about anything else for the rest of the day

I'm going Sunday but look forward to reading your review first. Generally the reviews here (in the UK) seem to have been pretty unanimous in saying that it's a good film, it's just that it's the weakest of the three. Jonathan Ross has said it's the best of the three, but he's become totally reliable and one suspects that he's been blind-sided by getting Kirsten Dunst and Toby Maguire on his chat show.

I have to say I've been thinking for several months that they're trying to cram way too much into a single film and it's hard to see how it could possibly work.

Actually the reviews here have been saying much the same thing. Rotten Tomatoes currently gives it a 68% "fresh" rating.

The sense I get just by reading the blurbs is that although it's somewhat uneven (so were the first two), over all, it plays (ditto).

I"m glad to see the Rotten Tomatoes number, Ben ... I work at a newspaper where I have to pick out the reviews that we run each week, and due to our early production cycle, I only had two to choose from, both of which only gave it two stars ... I have a strong suspicion it will be getting a much better review than that from me!
